EUA: Queda brutal de 40% no patrimônio das famílias. 20 anos se evaporam em 3. E piora.
The Great Recession wiped out nearly two decades of Americans’ wealth, according to government data released Monday, with middle-class families bearing the brunt of the decline. The Federal Reserve said the median net worth of families plunged by 39 percent in just three years, from $126,400 in 2007 to $77,300 in 2010. That puts Americans roughly on par with where they were in 1992. And, it’s only going to get worse. While government (un)employment statistics show that 8.3% are out of work, the number is closer to 22% – those are great depression numbers. If you lose your job today, there is a strong possibility you won’t be finding any meaningful labor any time soon. And for those just exiting college with hundred thousand dollar degrees in their hands, the prospect of ever finding a job and paying of those loans is almost nil.
