On October 20, Roscosmos is planning to propose to India the creation of a joint satellite system. The Izvestia Newspaper’s source at Roskosmos said that the basis of this proposal is the project involving the renovation of the satellite communication system Gonets (Messenger). The Gonets, a military communications system, has 13 satellites. It is expected that Dmitry Bakanov, General Director of Gonets, will be making a report on this project during a closed-door meeting of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission. The president of the company declined to comment on this information. There are plans to modify the system, if India or other BRICS countries agree to work together on this project. Roscosmos claims that these satellites will help provide fixed-link communications for remote areas.

 The deterrent of nuclear weapons has started to lose its value, and some have even got the illusion that a real victory of one of the sides can be achieved in a global conflict, without irreversible consequences for the winner itself – if there is a winner at all.” In short, Putin is suggesting that the world may have gone crazy. The implication is that the US believes it not only has the capacity to win a war against the nations Washington habitually places on its various lists of "bad guys" (i.e. Russia, Iran, and China), but that Washington believes America can win without incurring consequences that are commensurate with the damage the US inflicts on its enemies. That, Putin believes, is a dangerous miscalculation and one that could end up endangering US citizens. So once again, this is Putin setting the narrative and jumping at every opportunity to portray Russia as a nation that's not content to "lead from behind" (as so many have recently accused the US of doing). And once again, his assessment seems remarkably sober in a world that does indeed seem to have lost its collective mind.

Last week the biggest event that took place in Syria as part of Operation Hmeymim was the use by the Russian Navy’s Caspian Flotilla of 26 seaborne land-attack cruise missiles (LACMs) that hit 11 Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra military targets inside Syria, which were located about 1,500 km. away from the missile launch site: A massive blow using Kalibr-NK LACMs was struck from the southwestern Caspian Sea. The objects of the attack were factories producing shells and explosives; command posts; ammunition, weapon, and fuel depots; and terrorist training camps in the Syrian Governorates of Raqqa, Aleppo, and Idlib. The cruise missiles, with a Circular Error Probable of about three meters, hit every one of their targets that had been set two days earlier. The Dagestan, a missile-armed frigate with a displacement of about 2,000 tons, acted as the flagship of the Russian naval assault force accompanied by the small missile patrol ships the Veliky Ustyug, the Grad Sviyazhsk, and the Uglich (with a displacement of about 1,000 tons). Kalibr-NK missiles are extremely difficult to detect: when maneuvering, an LACM flies at high speed in stealth mode, meaning that it emits no signals that would allow it to be tracked by radar.

Thanks to a successful Caspian Operation, the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces have added an entirely new and quite significant element to their air-combat capabilities in Syria. The most important feature of an LACM is that it strikes instantly and with unparalleled accuracy. They have a hugely demoralizing effect on the enemy, because even if the moment of launch is detected, he can not even predict in what geographic area they will hit. True to form, the US persists in demanding that Moscow ban such missiles, insisting that they violate theIntermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (but in fact that treaty prohibits only land-based LACMs). This initial real-world use of long-range LACMs by Russia has significant strategic importance, because the carriers of such systems (surface vessels and submarines), stationed elsewhere in the ocean, can minimize the potential use of nuclear weapons and offensive antiballistic systems by those states that still consider the Russian Federation to be their “biggest potential enemy,” an “aggressor state,” and an “annexing state.” 

These high-impact weapons systems could be used for preemptive or retaliatory strikes with non-nuclear warheads. Also, the landlocked Caspian Sea takes on strategic importance for Russia, because from there Russia can inflict surgical strikes using LACMs at the whole Middle East region, without risking countermeasures from NATO’s naval forces. Now that the Russian armed forces have debuted such high-precision weaponry, the Pentagon can stop throwing away its money trying to build up its military options that are aimed squarely at Russia. In other words, there is no need to spend significant amounts to station American tactical nuclear weapons in Europe or to deploy its land- and sea-based antiballistic infrastructure in Romania and Poland – or in the Asia-Pacific region – since it is perfectly clear that from now on all of that will stay in the cross-hairs of not only Russian LACMs, but quite soon of some even more effective hypersonic, high-precision long-range weapons equipped with non-nuclear warheads. One might hope that not only the Islamic State, but also Washington and NATO will arrive at immediate, tactical, and deeply strategic conclusions based on the Caspian Operation and will thus end their threats to use force against Russian aircraft and will understand that although they cannot be friends or “strategic partners” with Moscow, they must live in peace.

Without that trust, and without that ability that the authorities are going to be able to contain it, I think we could see a very vicious downturn, something that gets out of control of the central planners. . . . Markets have a way of winning out in the end.” According to Dr. Martenson, watching the Fed to see when or if it will raise interest rates is not what people should be focusing on. Dr. Martenson explains, 

“Here’s what they should be focusing on. After 6 years of pumping trillions of dollars into the market, do we have the organic growth we need to pay off the loans that are already in circulation? The answer is no, we are not getting the growth. If we are not getting the growth and we have all these structural problems, that’s what people need to be focused on. That’s called reality. . . . You can smell the fear, and they are afraid of this market going down. This is a Franken market of the Fed’s own creation.” Chris Martenson, who also holds an earned PhD in Toxicology, says watch China because the recent signs are not good. Martenson contends, “You get your early signals from the place that is closest to the true economic action, and China is the center of that. So, to me, watching commodities tank first, gyrations in the Chinese stock market second, says third, you better be prepared for a big deflationary event or a big crash. . . . This is the mother of all crashes because the crash of 2008 was actually a side show. . . . We are going to discover that, like all bubbles, you return from where you started. . . . That means $40 trillion will have to get wiped out in the U.S. market alone.”

Former US national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski’s assertion that Washington should retaliate against Moscow for Russian airstrikes against US assets in Syria is a “stunning admission” of the role America has played in the Syrian crisis, an American scholar in Wisconsin says. Dr. Kevin Barrett, a founding member of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday while commenting on Brzezinski’s latest article about Russia in the Financial Times. Brzezinski advised President Barack Obama to attempt to disarm the Russians if they keep attacking the CIA-trained militants in Syria. “The Russian naval and air presences in Syria are vulnerable, isolated geographically from their homeland,” Brzezinski wrote on Sunday. “They could be ‘disarmed’ if they persist in provoking the US.” Dr. Barrett said that it is “a stunning admission from a senior high-level policy advisor here in the US that the US in fact using al-Qaeda, or perhaps the Islamic State [the Daesh/ISIL terrorist group] as well, as assets.” “This is not something that is normally admitted by officials from Washington, DC, that is that al-Qaeda in Syria, the al-Nusra Front, is actually a US ally,” he added. Brzezinski wrote that Moscow’s apparent decision to strike CIA’s militants “at best” reflects “Russian military incompetence,” and worst, “evidence of a dangerous desire to highlight American political impotence.” He added that if Moscow continues to target these people, then Washington should retaliate against Russians.

Commenting to Press TV, Dr. Barrett said that “the American people will be very interested to hear that just 14 years after the attacks of September 11th, 2001, which were officially blamed on al-Qaeda – which even then was called by some people al-CIA-duh, having had relationships with the US in the Afghan jihad against the Soviet Union – that this supposedly demonized enemy group that we were told was responsible for killing 3,000 Americans on September 11th, 2001 is now our ally in Syria, and we should to go war with Russia and risk a nuclear war that could end life on the planet in order to punish Russia for fighting against al-Qaeda.” “It’s kind of mind-boggling that anyone could even imagine the US retaliating against Russia for Russia’s attacks on al-Qaeda, but that’s precisely what Brzezinski said,” he stated. “And Brzezinski, for better or worse, is actually considered one of the more sensible and level-headed people in Washington, DC which tells you something about other people around him, the neoconservatives who are much crazier than even he is,” said Dr. Barrett, the author of Questioning the War on Terror. “I guess to explain this, we have just to note Brzezinski’s background; he is from a Polish nobility kind of family background which explains why he hates Russia so much, and has been trying to push aggressive policies against Russia throughout his whole life,” he pointed out. “But it’s still stunning and disgraceful that when Russia has intervened at the behest of the Syrian government, which is fully legitimate under international law, to shore up that government against these [terrorist] groups like al-Nusra and the Islamic State in order to try to stabilize the situation and lay the groundwork for a kind of peaceful solution, that the response from Brzezinski would be that we need to attack Russia,” Dr. Barrett observed.

On September 30, Russia began airstrikes against ISIL terrorists in Syria at the request of the government of President Bashar al-Assad. Since then, Moscow has carried out dozens of airstrikes against terrorists in Syria, killing hundreds of militants, Press TV reported. On Friday, a senior Russian general said there has been growing restlessness among ISIL militants with their command in Syria as they are getting ‘demoralized’ and are abandoning their locations and fleeing for their lives.

It is now clear, with the benefit of both hindsight and evidence from multiple sources, that the Barack Obama, with the full knowledge and support of Hillary Clinton, signed off on a secret finding sometime in late 2010 that authorized the CIA, and other intelligence organizations, to work with our foreign partners–the UK and the Turks in particular–to fund dissident groups and encourage protests that resulted in violent crackdowns by Libya, Egypt and Syria. For what purpose? Ostensibly to get rid of strongmen and light the fires of democracy. But we started a fire by passing money and weapons to radical Islamist, including the Muslim Brothers and, indirectly, Al Nusra and ISIS. This boneheaded policy has unleashed an inferno of murder and mayhem. And the response of Obama and his feckless team? To double down and try to create the pretense that we are serious about fighting ISIS when, in fact, our only interest is in getting rid of Syria Bashar al Assad. Vladimir Putin has exposed our charade. As I established in my post the other day, Why Are President Obama and the US Military Enabling ISIS?, the United States is not pursuing a serious strategy to destroy or dismantle ISIS. 

In fact, many foreign nations believe we have deliberately created and sustained ISIS as part of our policy to get rid of Assad. I don’t buy that theory, but I understand the natural confusion on that point. What I do not understand is why Republican are going along with this charade? Why are Republicans using belligerent, crazy statements to threaten Russia and agitate for a fight with the one country that has shown some serious resolve about fighting and killing Islamic radicals. The lies are now clearly exposed. What remains to be seen is whether Americans will continue to embrace those lies or, alternatively, wake up and demand truth from Obama and the Republicans still pushing for war. That is the matter before us.

Ackerman says when the end game finally crescendos, it will be stunning and quick. Ackerman contends, “It will be literally overnight. You will wake up one morning, and something will have happened in the Asian markets that cause the U.S. markets to open way below their circuit breakers or threaten to break the dam. It could all happen overnight, and I think it will. It’s the nature of the markets.” 

Ackerman says everything will shut down or be wiped out when the next crash explodes. Things like banks, brokerages and pensions can and will all go poof in a cloud of smoke. Ackerman goes on to say, “I don’t think anything will be left standing in the smoldering ruins. It’s very hard to imagine, but it is really going to be a complete disaster that is commensurate with the scope and scale of the lies we have been telling ourselves for so long. There are people who say you Chicken Little, doomsday, sky-is-falling guys almost seem to want the system to implode. I think the only way we get back to honest business is for a collapse to wipe away all the lies.”

One of the biggest lies comes from the Fed when it repeatedly keeps threatening to raise interest rates. Ackerman has been calling BS on a Fed rate hike for years and still contends, “I haven’t merely said the Fed wouldn’t raise rates. I’ve been shouting it from the rooftops. The answer to the question when will the Fed raise rates is never, and I am going to stick by that. That forecast has held up for nine years. So, it’s looking pretty good.” One of the very big problems with a rate rise is not just the increased interest payments on the federal debt, but also with derivatives in the hundreds of trillions of dollars which could destabilize the financial system. Ackerman explains, “It’s a global thing. We would be ratcheting up the interest payments on a quadrillion dollar derivatives market and, as you can imagine, that would unsettle a lot of arrangements. . . . I am going to stick with lower interest rates with the whole world slipping into recession.”

The United Kingdom ‘s response to Russia’s military intervention in Syria has been to send its permanent military contingent to bases in Poland and the Baltic state NATO members . The technology in question seems similar to the KRET Richag-AV system, although it apparently functions on a larger scale. A tactical version of this system was presented to journalists in the Russian city of Back in April 2015. Its electronic countermeasures system is designed to jam radar, sonar and other detection systems in the aims of defending aircraft, helicopters, drones, ground and naval forces against air-to-air and surface-to-air defense systems within a radius of several hundred kilometers. It can be mounted on units from any branch of the armed forces, including helicopters and airplanes, as well as ground and ship-based forces. The Mi8-MTPR1-based Richag-AV platform, using multi-beam antenna arrays with DRFM technology, is designed to actively jam and thus ‘blind’ radar systems in order to defend against radio-electronic guided weapons systems. In a combat situation, the system would operate as part of an aviation shock attack group aimed at breaking through virtually any defense system, blinding everything up to and including the US MIM-104 ‘Patriot’ anti-aircraft missile system.”[i]

NATO supreme commander and US Air Force General Philip Breedlove was probably talking about this new KRET system when he addressed the German Marshall Fund on Monday, September 28. Here Breedlove had warned that Russia was creating an “A2/AD bubble” over the Syrian coast, and the eastern Mediterranean. A2/AD is the abbreviation for anti-access and area denial. Breedlove pointed out that Russia has already established such bubbles over the Baltic Sea at the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, and also over the Crimea and the black Sea. 'While Russia’s stated goal in moving into Syria is to fight the Islamic State, NATO’s top commander believes Russia’s new presence includes the first pieces of an intricate layer of defensive systems deployed to hinder U.S. and coalition operations in the region. “As we see the very capable air defense [systems] beginning to show up in Syria, we’re a little worried about another A2/AD bubble being created in the eastern Mediterranean,” said Breedlove to an audience at the German Marshall Fund Monday. A2/AD stands for anti-access/area denial. During the early stages of warfare, A2/AD could have been a moat around a castle, or spikes dug into the ground—anything to keep the enemy off a certain swathe of territory. In the 21st century, however, A2/AD is a combination of systems such as surface-to-air missile batteries and anti-ship missiles deployed to prevent forces from entering or traversing a certain area—from land, air or sea. According to Breedlove, the introduction of an A2/AD bubble in Syria would be Russia’s third denial zone around Europe. The first and oldest he said, was in the Baltics where the Russian naval base in Kaliningrad has robust anti-air capabilities. If any of the major central banks anywhere on the planet ease or even hint they might, the robo machines and day traders unleash an avalanche of buy orders and the stock averages jerk higher.  Indeed, Zero Hedge captured the motion succinctly this AM. In keeping with Bernanke’s inaugural blog revelation that 98% of monetary policy consists of “open mouth” operations, the markets leapt upwards on cue. That is, if central banker jaws are flapping, then buy!

What this means is that this third immense financial bubble of the current century will keep inflating until central bankers stop banging the “stimulus” lever or the bubble finally crashes under its own weight. The latter will surely happen, eventually—- and the potential carnage can be readily approximated.  Last time, global equity market inflated to a peak of $60 trillion in aggregate value before they plunged to barely $25 trillion during the post-Lehman meltdown.

That means they have destroyed the shorts, extinguished fear, obsoleted fundamental analysis, drastically cheapened the cost of hedging and offered speculators unlimited opportunities to shoot fish in a barrel by front-running their announced bond buying and currency manipulation campaigns. In short, they have showered speculators with stupendous windfalls, displacing self-correcting two-way financial markets with rigged gambling casinos in the process.

The immense damage visited upon the machinery of financial markets is sitting there in plain sight. The endless six-year buy-the-dips run of the S&P 500 since March 2009, for example, would be impossible in an honest free market. So why do they ignore the dangers, and stubbornly plow forward clutching to ZIRP, N-ZIRP, QE, forward guidance and all the other tools of central bank stimulus?

U.S. military cargo planes gave 50 tons of ammunition to rebel groups overnight in northern Syria, using an air drop of 112 pallets as the first step in the Obama Administration's urgent effort to find new ways to support those groups. Details of the air mission over Syria were confirmed by a U.S. official not authorized to speak publicly because the details have not yet been formally announced. C-17s, accompanied by fighter escort aircraft, dropped small arms ammunition and other items like hand grenades in Hasakah province in northern Syria to a coalition of rebels groups vetted by the US, known as the Syrian Arab Coalition.

The ammunition originally was intended for the U.S. military's "train and equip" mission, the official said. But that program was canceled last week.  "So now we are more focused on the 'E' [equip] part of the T&E [train & equip]," said the official, who described equipping Syrian Arabs as the focus of the new strategy against ISIS.  The Defense Department announced Friday that it was overhauling the mission to aid Syrian rebel fighters. After the program fell far short of its goals for recruiting and training Syrian fighters, the DOD said it would focus instead on providing "equipment packages and weapons to a select group of vetted leaders and their units so that over time they can make a concerted push into territory still controlled by ISIL."  The shift also comes as Russia continues to launch airstrikes in Syria, causing tension with the U.S. amid suspicions Moscow is only trying to prop up Bashar Assad. Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition, confirmed that coalition forces conducted the airdrop on Sunday. "The aircraft delivery includes small arms ammunition to resupply counter-ISIL ground forces so that they can continue operations against ISIL. All aircraft exited the drop area safely," he said in a statement. All pallets successfully were recovered by friendly forces, a U.S. official said.

The French will support Russia’s fight against terrorists in Syria. U.S. President Obama will be kept informed about developments. Last Monday, French foreign minister Laurent Fabius took a surprising stance in favor of Russian air strikes in Syria. During an interview with French radio station Europe1 Fabius stated that these aerial attacks must be flown not just against ISIS but against all other groups which can be classified as terroristic. Russia’s news agency TASS also cited this interview. The interesting aspect of this interview is the correction of a former announcement of French president Hollande on last Friday arguing Russia is just allowed to hit ISIS – and nobody else. his is bad news for NATO. Since the launch of Russia’s air strikes NATO and U.S.-Neocons are keen to escalate the situation accusing the Russians of attacking other terrorist groups beyond IS. But this is exactly the task of the Russians, Fabius declared during his interview. 

Fabius explained further that president Hollande shares of course the same view but had been in a hurry during his last interview and probably was not precise enough. It is very embarrassing for the U.S. and Turkey that Fabius explicitly defined Jabhat al-Nusra Front as potential target. Al Nusra Front– a Syrian Al-Qaida branch is financed and equipped by the U.S. and Turkey. A permanent information exchange concerning the progress of the raids has been established. Israel is being informed as well and cooperates with the Russians on an informal basis. The French air raids have been flown for a while now. Obviously there is no common idea within NATO concerning the future strategy in Syria. It is not clear whether there is coordination between Russia and France when flying the aerial attacks. Gulf states and Turkey share other interests in the region and are opposing the Russians. Turkey is demanding financial support from the EU to cover the cost for running the refugee camps and additionally for some sort of standstill agreement with respect to Turkey’s own military activities in Syria and Northern Iraq.

Here is what happened to the missing so very critical data series, straight from the horse's mouth: Q: In the September 18, 2015 release of the Z.1 Financial Accounts of the United States, some tables in the summary section on credit market instruments seem to have disappeared. What happened to these tables and where can I find the equivalent data series?  With the September 18, 2015 Z.1 release, the classic presentation of the instrument category "credit market instruments" has been discontinued and replaced with two new instrument categories, "debt securities" and "loans". Reporting debt securities and loans separately brings the Financial Accounts more in line with the international standards for national accounts. The debt securities instrument includes open market paper, Treasury securities, agency- and GSE-backed securities, municipal securities, and corporate and foreign bonds. The new loans instrument includes depository loans not elsewhere classified, other loans and advances, mortgages, and consumer credit. Together, debt securities plus loans include all of the financial assets or liabilities previously included in credit market instruments. While the underlying instrument categories that make up the sum of debt securities and loans are the same as those in old "credit market instruments" concept, changes to a few of these categories make the new sum of debt securities and loans larger than in previous publications.

This change has had three major impacts on the table structure of the publication: (1) summary tables focusing on "credit market instruments" have been eliminated; (2) remaining summary tables have been renumbered; and (3) new instrument tables for debt securities (tables F.208 and L.208) and loans (tables F.214 and L.214) have been created. That's the "what", as for the why, note what the Fed said above: "the new sum of debt securities and loans larger than in previous publications." Which means that not only did the Fed stop reporting a consolidated total debt series, it admits that the actual debt was higher. Some $2.7 trillion higher. Oops. Here is the Fed's mea culpa on that particular topic: Q: Why is the level of total debt outstanding in the September 18, 2015 release of the Z.1 Financial Accounts of the United States so much higher than it was in the previous Z.1 release? Total debt outstanding was revised upwards due to methodology changes to both Treasury securities and security credit. Total debt outstanding is now the sum of two new instrument categories: debt securities (table L.208) and loans (table L.214). The aggregate of these instrument categories was previously called credit market instruments. Treasury securities, part of the debt securities instrument category, now include nonmarketable Treasury securities held by federal government defined benefit retirement plans(FL343061145). The inclusion of federal government defined benefit retirement plans resulted in an upward revision to the level of federal government debt of about $1.408 trillion for 2014:Q4. Margin accounts at brokers and dealers (FL663067003) are now included in the household sector's other loans and advances instrument category. This change resulted in an upward revision of $370 billion to the outstanding amount of household sector loans for 2014:Q4. The bottom line: The total revision to the level of debt outstanding (debt securities plus loans) due to these methodology changes is approximately $2.74 trillion 2014:Q4. And so the Fed has managed to kill two birds with one stone: it no longer provides a simple, one-stop-shop way to reconcile the total US credit stock, and it quietly boosted total US consolidated credit by $2.7 trillion to $62.1 trillion as of June 30, 2015.

The Moscow’s success in Syria defines a serous problem for the White House. The idea to blame Russia for bombing moderate rebels doesn’t work. If moderate rebels were in Syria, why did the US need to launch an expensive campaign to train moderate rebels? Moreover, most part of the US-trained “moderate rebels” with full eqipment joined “Jabhat al-Nusra” declared a terrorist group even by the US. Despite the fact the Pentagon’s program aimed to train moderate rebels was a total failure and, indeed, supported terrorism in Syria, the Pentagon officials didn’t pay the penalty. Thus, we could suggest that it was a cover of the real aim to support terrorist groups as “Jabhat al-Nusra” and “Ahrar ash-Sham”. They are only power that is ready help to the US to achieve its main goal, to overthrow Bashar al-Assad. Kurds’ activity is concentrated in the northern Syria. They could advance on Al-Raqqa but they won’t fight against the Syrian government. If the White House decided to support terrorist, it had to conform its policy with Saudi Arabia, founder and supporter of Jabhat al-Nusra and number of small terrorist groups in Syria. The fact that US-led coalition Air Force didn’t bomb “Jabhat al-Nusra” last months proves this assumption. Moreover, both Washington and Riyadh are interested in the chaos in Syria to weaken Iran in this region. Thus, they hope to restore the regional balance of powers strongly affected by the Russian military operation.

On October 12, a group of US cargo aircraft laready airdropped some 50 tons of small fire ammunition and explosives to terrorists in northern Syria’s Hasakah Governatore. Also, there are numerous reports that Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey are ready to strengthen their support to terrorist groups with arms, amunitions and even man-portable air defense systems. The very same time, US Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Syria (CJSOTF-S) moved to the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. According to reports, CJSOTF-S will coordinate weapons’ supplies to Syrian groups fighting the Assad government and air-ground cooperation between terrorist and the US Air Force located at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Furthermore, CJSOTF-S is under command of US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) which was coordinated the $500 million programm to train so-called “moderate rebels”. Thus, the US and its allies took a hard line to inspire terrorist activity in Syria.

Washington has been continuing to develop measures against the Russian strategy in Syria. First of all, the US has to demonstrate the existence of the so-called “moderate rebels”. For that reason the topic of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) became popular in the US and European media. But what is the FSA? FSA units were created about half a year after the start of the Syrian war.Turkey supported this idea. However, it always was a PR myth and never was a real power in the battlefield. The first FSA activity was noted in 2011 when its leader, a former colonel of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), Riad al-Asaad made a statement about the creation of the FSA. Sunni deserters from the SAA became the core of the group. Turkey started supplies of arms and equipment, but there weren’t any confirmed reports of FSA operations. In 2012, Riad al-Asaad was injured in a car incident and lost a leg. After this event FSA’s level of activity dropped even lower. Moreover, the local FSA units didn’t comply with Ankara orders. There wasb no central commander or a chain of command. In 2012, Turkey abandoned its attempts to turn the FSA into a real power in Syria. Separately, Washington didn’t support the FSA because of its minor role in Syria.

In the end of 2012, the FSA went into liquidation. Nonetheless, separate units still exist in the battlefield. Turkish intelligence services use them for their own purposes. In general, these units are based at Homs, Aleppo and in southern Syria. Another part of the FSA joined terrorist groups such as Al Nusra. The so-called “Southern Front of the Free Syrian Army”, indeed, isn’t a part of the FSA. It consists of tribal people living at the border of Syria and Jordan.They fight only to defend their settlement zone. The 700 militants who surrendered to the Syrian government in Daraa were members of this tribal militia. Indeed, the US has never supplied arms and equipment to the FSA. The FSA units didn’t include Qatari or Saudi mercenaries. It has always been a failed Syrian project. Instead, Saudi mercenaries and members of the Saudi Special Forces have been actively participating in the Jabhatal-Nusra terrorist group and similar entities. Thus, 90% of the so-called “Syrian rebels” are clearly terrorists supported by Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other foreign players. The moderate opposition doesn’t exist, or at most it controls minor areas in some parts of Syria. So if theWhite House wants to prove that Russia bombs the wrong terrorists, it should show leaders of these so-called “moderate rebels”, their history of rebellion and distinct areas of their control. Otherwise the complaints about hitting wrong targets are pure and simple lies.

The United States, Carter said, is not prepared to cooperate with a strategy of Russia's that is "tragically flawed." "They continue to hit targets that are not ISIL," Carter said, using an acronym for the Islamic State group. "We believe that is a fundamental mistake." Carter said he is concerned about the Syrian ground offensive that began Wednesday backed by Russian airpower. Russia, which backs Syrian President Bashar Assad, has hit Western-backed rebels fighting Assad.

The Russian Air Force has carried out 55 sorties in the last 24 hours, hitting 53 Islamic State targets in four Syrian provinces and destroying command posts, terrorist training camps and a transfer point, among others. Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-34 bombers, together with Su-25SM ground support aircraft, bombed ISIS positions in the provinces of Idlib, Latakia, Homs and Hama, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, told journalists. The airstrikes destroyed seven command points, six training camps, six arms depots and a stronghold near the village of Salma in Latakia province.

Russian aircraft have also attacked 24 of the terrorists’ fortified strongpoints, along with weapons and vehicles stored there. “Over the last day, Russian warplanes have also eliminated a convoy of terrorist vehicles, a mobile mortar gunnery team and three underground bunker systems," Konashenkov reported. A Sukhoi Su-25 ground-support fighter jet, using reconnaissance data obtained by drones, bombed a mobile mortar battery in the Hama province, wiping out three SUVs with mortars mounted on them and a truck of munitions. Also in Hama province, a Sukhoi Su-24M deployed a guided KAB-500 air bomb and destroyed an Islamic State fortified command post. “A pinpoint strike demolished all [engineering] installations of the terrorists,” Konashenkov reported. The convoy eliminated near the town of Sukeyk north of Hama consisted of three petrol tankers, a large truck and two SUVs with heavy machine guns mounted on them. All the vehicles have been destroyed.

"The populations there are subject to ongoing continual violence either from the U.S. or these Jihadists or from the Islamic State. In Libya there's various factions, no government – just warlords fighting and nobody's safe anywhere so the populations are getting out. You can't live in that type of situation." Early in the interview, the hosts ask Roberts about a recent column he penned in which he states that all current Republican presidential contenders are essentially in favor of war. The hosts then ask him about the potential of nuclear war with either Russia or China, "because we seem to be moving in that direction." "I think what it will take is the European countries to realize that they've been enabling American aggression in the 21st century, and aggression that is now brought them millions of refugees particularly from Syria and Iraq, and they can't cope with these refugees," said Roberts in reference to the fighting between ISIS, Syrian rebels, and Iraqi and Syrian government forces that has caused a wave of migration out of the war zones into Europe.

He also said that Europe's blind pursuit of American-led goals was putting the entire continent in potential conflict with Russia, which has established bases in Syria and has deployed men and material there in support of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, including tanks and combat aircraft. The Obama White House opposes Assad and wants him to step down. "All of this is nonsensical for Europe, so it's possible that they will come to the conclusion that being a vassal of Washington doesn't pay," Roberts said.

Part of the reason the public doesn’t care, is due to a lack of information as about 90% of the American media is owned by 6 large mega corporations that manipulate the news. “The story that is told by the American media is Washington’s propaganda line and of course whatever the corporation’s propaganda line is and there is no challenge to either”. On the republican debates, Paul questions the aggressive stands that most of the candidates seemed to have towards foreign policy. He states that this stand will simply create distrust among nuclear wielding powers. “Every American president since John F Kennedy worked with the soviet leadership to diffuse the nuclear issue”. 

He says that this shift in culture across the candidates is a combination of both campaign finance and a shift in culture. “There’s no such thing as a free market in the United States, it requires many producers none of which can affect price…………….look at the banks, the banks are so concentrated that they are too big to fail. How do you have capitalism if a failed enterprise doesn’t close down instead it is bailed out by the people or by the Federal Reserve printing money to buy its worthless portfolio. This not capitalism, there’s no capitalism here, this is an oligarchy!” “What has the government said that’s true? Think of anything, can you think of anything they’ve said that’s true? We know that the unemployment rate they’re reporting is false, inflation rate is false, and the gross domestic product is false. We know all of this, we know that Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, he did not have Al Qaeda connections, that Assad of Syria did not use chemical weapons. We know Russia did not invade Ukraine but they say this over and over and over. I can’t think of one thing that the government or corporate world has said in 20 years that’s true”.
