There are at least two Turkish Navy submarines in the area where guided missile cruiser “Moskva” is providing cover for the Russian airbase “Hmeymim” in the Syrian city of Latakia, – Istanbul media reported. According to the Turkish General staff, currently the submarines in the Eastern Mediterranean are “Dolunay” and “Burakreis”. “Dolunay” departed for patrol duty on November 11, “Burakreis” on 7th. As reported earlier, after the downing of Russian Su-24 bomber by Turkish F-16 jet, missile cruiser “Moskva”, deployed to Eastern Mediterranean since the end of September, was relocated closer to the coast of Syria. According to the Russian General staff, the guided missile cruiser “Moskva”, equipped with naval variant of S-300 air defense system called “Fort” on November 25th, arrived at designated area in the coastal part of the Syrian Latakia province. There he began combat duty to ensure the security of Russian Aerospace Defense Forces base “Hmeymim” Moreover, after the incident with Su-24 all Russian strike-bomber aircraft operating in Syria are now conducting their missions with the cover of fighter jets. According to Russian General staff S-400 anti-aircraft missile system has been deployed at the “Hmeymim” airbase, ensuring adequate protection of the air group. “We warn that all targets that represent potential danger to us, will be destroyed,” – said the head of the Main operational Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General staff, Lieutenant-General Sergey Rudskoy.

Russia is striking back after a "stab in the back by an accomplice to terrorists" by changing the "game" in Syria. Moscow's retaliation is not just about severing economic and diplomatic ties. It is pursuing a policy that could tie Turkey's hands in Syria. Ankara never received international backing for a safe zone across its border, but Russia has now ruled that out. The deployment of S-400 anti-air missiles means Russia has effectively imposed a no-fly zone over Syria. And now, Moscow seems to be moving closer to a group that has been the US-led coalition's main ground force in Syria - a group which Turkey, itself a member of that coalition, calls "terrorists". The Syrian Kurdish forces (YPG) is a US-backed Kurdish group that has pushed the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) back from areas along the border with Turkey. In an attempt to change the solely "Kurdish face" of anti-ISIL ground troops, it aligned with some Arab brigades to form "the Syria Democratic Forces" (SDF). No doubt a further strengthened YPG will anger Turkey, which has long feared that Kurdish autonomy in northern Syria would stir up similar sentiments among its own Kurdish population. he SDF are now engaged in a fierce battle with Turkey-backed opposition factions in what is considered to be an important corner of Syria - the northern countryside of Aleppo. To be more specific: the area west of the Euphrates River, which Turkey calls a red line. The SDF captured some opposition-controlled towns close to the Turkish border of Kilis - known in Syria as Bab al-Salameh, an important lifeline for rebel groups. Russian air strikes have been targeting the area for days now.

Turquia fecha Bósforo, bloqueia frota russa do Mar Negro.
Turkey has begun a defacto blockade of Russian naval vessels, preventing transit through the Dardanelles and the Strait of Bosphorus, between the Black Sea and Mediterranean. According to the AIS tracking system for the movement of maritime vessels, only Turkish vessels are moving along the Bosphorus, and in the Dardanelles there is no movement of any shipping at all. At the same time, both from the Black Sea, and from the Mediterranean Sea, there is a small cluster of ships under the Russian flag, just sitting and waiting. In addition, shipping inside the Black Sea from Novorossiisk and Sevastopol in the direction of the Bosphorus, no Russian vessels are moving. This indirectly confirms the a CNN statement that Turkey may have blocked the movement of Russian ships on the Dardanelles and the Strait of Bosporus.

EUA elimina freio da dívida: teto é suprimido. Agora, céu é o limite.
Occurring against a background of relative indifference, the US federal debt ceiling has been suspended until March 2017[1]. Many voices were raised[2] for a long time against this ceiling, as it was considered an artificial constraint, oscillating between too restrictive and a generator of political obstacles on one side, and not restrictive enough on the other, due to its ultimate constant rise. Everyone is happy now: this time, the ceiling has not only been raised, it has been suspended in a landmark precedent. The agreement reached at the end of October is generally considered a victory for Obama[3], as he will no longer have to worry about the debt limit until the end of his term. Nevertheless, and our readers are suspecting it, our team does not see it exactly that way.
First, on the content of the expenditures: Obama must have conceded an equal increase in both domestic and military budgets. This means approximately a 3% increase for the defense budget, against only 0.7% for the rest. This shows already that it is rather the Republicans who got what they wanted. Yet, we also understand that the risk of shutdown is still an imperative motivation to the current government, forcing it to negotiate with the parliamentary majority. Moreover, it is probably in anticipation of a possible alternate to the US presidential election of 2016 that Republicans have easily voted for that agreement. According to our team, the fate of the debt ceiling is now sealed – it was too much: everyone understood that the ceiling was useless, and it will not be difficult for the future president to permanently abolish it, or to indefinitely extend the suspension. The frail US firewall against bt has fallen, because it was not able to stop the fire…

WASHINGTON -- Turkey and Saudi Arabia, two nations with a long history of rivalry, are in high-level talks with the goal of forming a military alliance to oust Syrian President Bashar Assad, according to sources familiar with the discussions. The talks are being brokered by Qatar. As the partnership is currently envisioned, Turkey would provide ground troops, supported by Saudi Arabian airstrikes, to assist moderate Syrian opposition fighters against Assad's regime, according to one of the sources. President Barack Obama was made aware of the talks in February by the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al Thani, during the emir's visit to the White House, one source said. A White House spokesperson declined to comment.

A government shutdown would force Congress to address fiscal issues before they reach unmanageable levels, a former Reagan administration official contended Wednesday. “We’re on the fiscal Titanic and we’re going to hit something hard and immovable one of these days,” said David Stockman, director of the Office of Management and Budget from 1981 to 1985, in a CNBC “Closing Bell” interview. The House of Representatives and Senate on Wednesday passed a last-minute stopgap spending bill that will keep the federal government open through Dec. 11 pending President Barack Obama’s signature. But another budget battle will likely ensue then, as Congress remains divided over federal funding for women’s health organization Planned Parenthood.
Many in Congress have opposed a shutdown, as a government closure can put some federal employees temporarily out of work or delay their pay. Stockman contends it could have a positive effect by making lawmakers address spending and debt issues. He called for entitlement and defense spending reform. He also argued that easy monetary policy from central banks has made lawmakers less likely to address the deficit. Still, Stockman did not clearly outline why a shutdown would force lawmakers to make significant budget changes.

Former Reagan Administration budget director David Stockman says the biggest crash coming is not going to be in the stock market. Stockman warns, “I think we are headed for a central calamity. The central banks of the world have been on a 20 year campaign to massively expand their balance sheets and intrude into financial markets in ways that were never before imagined. In the process, they falsified every asset value there is from overnight money all the way to 30-year bonds and the stock market.
Everything now is trading off the central banks, but the central banks have hit the end of the road. They have printed so much money and created such a massive global bubble that we are now in the process of that bubble fracturing. The central banks are now beginning to become confused and panicked about what to do. The Chinese have no idea what to do with their $28 trillion credit bubble and that house of cards in China. Our Fed is now on the verge of another meeting where they are debating if 80 months of 0% interest rates is enough. That is crazy.” Stockman, who also had a 20 year career on Wall Street, says enormous amounts of global bond debt will never be repaid. Stockman explains, “That’s why I say the financial system is booby-trapped with debt bombswaiting to explode. I use the 100 year Brazilian bonds as an example, but there are trillions of dollars of this stuff all over the place. You know the central bankers pretend that they don’t see any bubbles. These people are not only bubble blind, they are bubble deaf. They have no capacity to understand the explosive nature of the financial markets that they are toying with.”
.
. Stockman goes on to paint a grim picture and says, “What happens when the financial breakdown comes is there is a great margin call. Everybody says ‘I want my money back and I’ll take your collateral if I don’t get it back. If I do take your collateral, I will sell it for whatever price I can get and cut my losses.’ So, this is truly a house of cards. The whole pyramid of debt and what we call hypothecation and rehypothecation of financial assets, that is the real bubble. That’s what people don’t focus on enough. Sure, you can think of stocks that are a bubble, like Tesla and its current price of around $250, or the biotech index which is trading at hundreds of times earnings is crazy. What’s really crazy is all of this debt that has been created has been turned into collateral and borrowed against at a very high rate. The whole thing is very unstable and tottering as we speak.. . . Much of this collateralized credit that has been created is a confidence game.
It is a daisy chain, and when the confidence breaks and they start to unwind the chain, the amount of debt outstanding will shrink. That will create tremendous broken furniture in the financial system.” How do you protect yourself? Stockman says, “The place to go in my view is cash. Stay short and liquid because we are going into deflationary collapse. We are going into a great reset in the financial markets where inflated asset values are going to be marked down tremendously, bond prices and stock prices. As a result of, that there will be great opportunity after the dislocation runs its course to buy things much cheaper than they are priced today.” Stockman thinks the whole system unwinds sometime before the 2016 Presidential race is finished.

On November 24th, 2015, a Turkish fighter jet shot downed our Su-24 during a combat mission over Syria. So blatant a level of provocation hasn’t happened for a very long time, and has provoked outrage. Here are the reactions of some ultra-nationalists: ”We’ve been humiliated, silenced, wiped out, and we must respond in kind.”. Before we ascertain whether this is true, let’s ask ourselves whether Turkey benefits from this? The answer is no. In fact, the decision was probably not Turkey’s to take, although those who took it want a symmetrical response. The USSR’s participation in the Korean War was limited , as it’s leaders knew that the US wanted to drag it into a conflict from which a country exhausted by the war with Hitler could not come out a winner. They want the same thing now: rash impulsive actions. But we won’t give in to them. We’ve blocked the flow of Russian tourists to Turkey, the customs office doesn’t accept Turkish products, the Russian Air Force is attacking convoys of terrorist supplies going into Syria from Turkey and bombing contraband fuel trucks. But this is not the beginning of all-out war. No, dear Western “partners”, you won’t get a direct military confrontation with Russia. We remember our history.

OTAN reage acuada, Rússia lhe ataca a imagem no ponto fraco: "são cúmplices de terrorismo".
NATO is extremely nervous, because it knows that the truth about the relationship of NATO-member Turkey to the Islamist terror group (IS) will come to light if there is a Russian victory in Syria. If the refugees are able to return, Erdogan won’t have them as a pawn to extort money [from the EU]. It’s clear who’s interested in an escalation of the conflict. The reaction of the Western alliance on the shooting down of a Russian bomber show that NATO is very nervous. It’s on the verge of losing control of Russia in Syria. The great Turkish ride out, which was most likely planned by the secret services, looks more like a desperate symbolic act than a carefully considered commando operation. The Russian Ambassador to NATO, Alexander Grushko, called it shadow theatre. The reason why NATO is looking for shady place to hide is the fact that Putin named those who shot down the Russian aircraft accomplices of the terrorists. Turkey is a NATO country. The alliance is confronted with the official accusation of terrorism for the first time.
Until now, NATO has been the only one to slap others with the terrorist label. The real reason for their nervousness is tangibly rooted in the military. The hopes of NATO and their secret services are being dashed on the rocks. US President Barack Obama has been running a different political course than that which NATO and their secret services would want. Obama wants to get out of the Syria war. He’s admitted that the mission has failed — and the idea of “regime change” has taken a heavy beating, to say the least. Obama has arranged it with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Russians take over the IS-project. This has been devastatingly humiliating for the neocons, NATO, and the secret services. After that, Russia began fighting terrorists who were allies of the US military. From the very beginning, Putin has stood in the way of the western military’s desire to cover up their manipulations Syria. The Islamic State and the military advisers of both Turkey and the Pentagon are now facing defeat in Syria.
E vai piorar: Europa sob líderes ineptos, sujeita à extorsão turca.
Erdogan can still blackmail the totally incompetent EU and the German chancellor, who is totally over her head — by demanding billions of euros in protection money for the refugees. If the Russians truly succeed, however, in bringing peace to Syria — and in such a way that a majority of the refugees can return to their homeland — then Erdogan suddenly has a bad poker hand. Turkey is of course totally unsuitable to be included in the EU under Erdogan. Everybody in Brussels knows it. The visa-free travel is also a grotesque idea. Every day there are new incidents of how business can be conducted with fake Turkish passports — especially in Turkey. Then there’s the three billion euros that Erdogan demands from European taxpayers for the refugees. What’s going to happen with the money? Integration of refugees in Turkey? Better accommodation in the camps? No corruption, complete transparency? This whole outlook makes Erdogan’s government and its intelligence agencies feel justified in shooting down a Russian fighter jet. They need an escalation of the situation, because they have their backs to the wall. That also makes Erdogan unpredictable in this conflict. He has a lot to lose.

RESUMO DA GUERRA: Em acêrto com EUA, Turquia abate um jato russo. Mundo à beira da guerra.
On November 24, a Russian Su-24 frontline bomber was shot down near the Turkish border in Syria by two intercepting Turkish F-16s. SU-24 was attacked insidiously and unexpectedly. The Turkish officials can’t prove with facts that the downed warplane was warned. The two pilots ejected: 1-st pilot was killed in a savage way on the ground by jihadists in the area. According to reports, 2-nd pilot was managed to escape. He was picked up by the Syrian Army. The Russian military carried out a search-and-rescue operation involving two Mi-8 helicopters. One helicopter was shot down by fire from the ground, one naval infantry soldier of contract service was killed. The personnel and crew were evacuated to the Russian base at Hmeymim. Thus, Russia lost 1 SU-24, 1 MI-8, 1 pilot and 1 mariner yesterday. The fate of 1 pilot is questionable. The Syrian sources report that last night the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces struck with massive attacks on the positions of militants, including Turkomans, in the region where the Russian Su-24 was shot down. Guided missile cruiser «Moskva» joint with escort ships is taking location at the shore zone of Northern Latakia near Turkish border to defend the Russian Air Forces from any air threats. . The Russian General Staff is currently developing additional measures to ensure the Russian air base’s security:
1) All attack aircraft operations will be on have fighter cover.
2) The air defenses are strengthened.
3) Russia ends military-to-military contacts with Turkey.
Separately, the US puppets in Kiev have made a strike at another front. As result of a terrorism act near the border with Russia, the four main transmission lines between Ukraine and Crimea were blown up. About 1,7 million people in Crimea are cut from the power supplies. Some experts believe that the terrorism act was conducted by Turkish intelligence services in concurrence with the US. The goal is to prevent a growth of the Russian influence due to the successful operations in Syria. Formally, the terrorism act was made by Crimean Tatar extremists and the “Right Sector” terrorist group. The Turkish actions in Syria are a direct violation of international law norms and a direct violation of the Memorandum on Preventing Incidents and Ensuring Safe Flight in the Syrian Arab Republic which we entered into with the United States and which applies to all coalition members, including Turkey. This event coordinated with the Crimea’s blackout could be described as a clear war provocation against Russia. At the moment, we could observe an escalation in a diplomatic sphere and military build up of the all sides involved in the Syrian crisis. If the US and its allies continue their provocative and shallow policy, there is a serious threat of an open military escalation in the region.

“The Turks cannot afford to shoot down a Russian plane, being a member of NATO, without asking the permission of NATO. They have to ask NATO. It’s NATO,” said Jumblatt, a member of parliament and leader of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party. Jumblatt is considered the leader of Lebanon’s historic Druze community. “I know that this jet was shot down by the Turks and directly [by] the Cold War between NATO and Russia,” Jumblatt added. Asked to confirm whether he was accusing NATO of approving Turkey’s downing of the Russian jet, Jumblatt replied: “I think so, because such a major action cannot be taken on a local level. A Turkish level. Because so many times the Turkish airspace was violated. Now this is something else. It’s a new dimension in international politics.” Jumblatt said this so-called new dimension is marked by the Turkey-Russia confrontation. “From one side you have the Americans and their allies fighting ISIS. And they are at odds with the Russian policy, because Russian policy, from Ukraine to Crimea, there is tension about it. Now there is tension about Syria. Russia favors the Syrian regime. Whereby NATO, theoretically they want to topple the (Bashar) Assad regime. They want a transitional period in Syria. These are the broad lines.”.

The large scale exercise will be Hosted by Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota and Minot Air Force Base in the newly expanded Powder River Training Complex. Clearly these exercises are in preparation for possible deployment over Syria given the fact that Vladimir Putin has also deployed bombers in the region. However the B-1 bombers are defenseless against Putin's powerful S-400 ANTI-AIRCRAFT SUPER WEAPON now deployed in Syria.

Mr Putin also said that America - an ally of Turkey on Syria - had known the flight path of the downed Russian jet. "The American side, which leads the coalition that Turkey belongs to, knew about the location and time of our planes' flights, and we were hit exactly there and at that time," Mr Putin said.
. Putin effectively accused the US of leaking the coordinates of the Russian plane to Turkey, which was merely a hitman acting with the blessing of the Pentagon. This is what Putin said: "We told our US partners in advance where, when at what altitudes our pilots were going to operate. The US-led coalition, which includes Turkey, was aware of the time and place where our planes would operate. And this is exactly where and when we were attacked. Why did we share this information with the Americans? Either they don't control their allies, or they just pass this information left and right without realizing what the consequences of such actions might be. We will have to have a serious talk with our US partners.
Both the American and Turkish air forces halted their strikes on Syrian territory around the time Russia deployed S-400 air defense complexes at the Khmeimim airbase, from which it stages its own incursions against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL). A spokesperson of the Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) told Sputnik on Friday that the absence of anti-IS coalition airstrikes “has nothing to do with the S400 deployment” in Syria.
According to open sources, the S-400 is capable of shooting down any existing aircraft, helicopter or missile traveling at speeds of up to 4.8 kilometer per second (over 17,000 km/h) The only target the system would have problems with is a nuclear warhead of intercontinental ballistic missile, which flies at speeds of up to 6-7 kilometer per second. The S-400 engages targets at distances as far as 400 kilometers and heights of up to 27 kilometers (or higher with newer missiles). This is enough to cover at least 75 percent of Syrian territory, along with the airspaces of Lebanon, Cyprus, half of Israel and a vast part of Turkey.
The S-400’s radar has a range of 600 kilometers and is capable of discriminating even objects moving on the ground, such as cars and military vehicles. S-400 radar covers Syria, western regions of Iraq and Saudi Arabia, nearly all of Israel and Jordan, Egypt’s northern Sinai, a large part of the eastern Mediterranean and Turkish airspace as far as the capital Ankara.

The leaflets telling Syrian truck drivers to run for their lives were emblematic of the stark differences between the U.S. and Russian air campaigns that will make greater cooperation pushed by the White House again Thursday difficult to achieve. About 45 minutes before A-10 Thunderbolt II and AC-130 Spectre gunships attacked, fighters made low passes over 116 oil truck tankers in eastern Syria last Sunday to drop leaflets. "Get out of your trucks now and run away from them," the leaflets told the drivers. "Warning. Airstrikes are coming, oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life."
"We combine these leaflet drops with very low altitude passes of some of our attack aviation, which sends a very powerful message," Army Col. Steve Warren, a spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, said in Wednesday from Baghdad during a teleconference at the Pentagon. The leaflet drop was more evidence of the pains taken by the U.S. in air tasking orders to avoid civilian casualties through precision weaponry and the use of intelligence assets in contrast to indiscriminate Russian airstrikes with "dumb bombs," Warren said. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have talked up the possibility of more coordination with Russia against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, since the Paris attacks and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s vow of "vengeance" earlier this week for the apparent bombing of a Russian airliner claimed by an ISIS affiliate that killed all 224 aboard.

"For the first time in a long time a politician controlled by the US made a stand against … American geopolitics," Sivkov noted. "Hollande is acting tough and disregarding US interests in the process. By promoting ties with Russia, the French president is 'creating cracks in NATO's spirit,' essentially splitting the US-led coalition. This deals American geopolitics a major blow." The analyst believes that the meeting could lead to real military and technological cooperation between Russian and Western forces engaged in the fight against ISIL. Following a meeting with Vladimir Putin, Francois Hollande has proved himself to be an independent leader, who is willing to disregard US interests, defense expert Konstantin Sivkov told Sputnik. The two leaders met in Moscow on Thursday to discuss anti-ISIL efforts and agreed to share intelligence data on terrorist groups. International relations expert Dmitry Suslov described the agreement as a "colossal breakthrough and colossal success."
"We managed to reach an agreement with Hollande in those areas, where we failed to with Obama," the analyst noted at a round table discussion held by Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency. Russia could use this opportunity to encourage cooperation with the US-led coalition via the communication channel between Moscow and Paris, he noted. Hollande's visit to Moscow, according to Suslov, has also put an end to attempts to "consolidate the US-led coalition against Russia and to exclude any contacts between Russia and the Western coalition on activities in Syria." Other experts do not share this optimism. International relations analyst Sergei Bolshakov considers Hollande to be a "week leader, who is fully controlled by the US." In his opinion, Washington is not interested in changing its strategy in the Middle East. Russia has been engaged in counterterrorism efforts in Syria following a request from Damascus since September 30. Moscow's aerial campaign is aimed at destroying radical groups, which are seeking to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad. The US-led coalition, which has not received a formal authorization from Damascus, launched an airstrike campaign tasked with degrading and destroying ISIL in September 2014.

The S-400 Triumf (NATO reporting name: SA-21 Growler) next generation surface-to-air missile system has been deployed to the Hmeymim airbase in Syria where the Russian Aerospace Forces group is stationed. The Russian Defense Ministry announced the deployment of the S-400 systems on Wednesday, a day after Turkish fighter jets had shot down a Russian Su-24 bomber, which had been taking part in Russia's anti-terror campaign in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the incident as a "stab in the back, carried out against us by accomplices of terrorists." The S-400, an upgrade of the S-300 Growler family, is a new-generation anti-aircraft defense system operated solely by the Russian military. The S-400 ensures air defense using long- and medium-range missiles that can hit aerial targets at ranges of up to 400 kilometers (almost 250 miles).

"Ordem: destruir qualquer ameaca que se aproxime".

On Tuesday, Turkey shot down a Russian warplane that was carrying out military operations against jihadi groups in Northern Syria. The downing of the Su-24 fighter jet is part of a broader plan by the administration of Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdogan to topple the secular government of Syrian President Bashar al Assad and to establish “safe zones” on the Syrian side of the Turkish-Syrian border. Erdogan needs the safe zones to provide a sanctuary for the militant extremists who are the footsoldiers in his war against Syria. The downing of the Russian fighter is a desperate attempt by Erdogan to incite a reaction from Russia that will draw either NATO or the United States deeper into a conflict which has dragged on for 4 and a half years and killed 250,000 people. Unlike the Obama administration, that has been willing to arm and train jihadi groups to conduct its proxy-war against Assad in Syria, Erdogan is a true believer, a committed Islamist who has done everything in his power to roll back democracy in Turkey, to establish one-man rule, to destroy the independent judiciary, to silence the free press, and to establish a conservative and intolerant Islamic state. Erdogan is what many would call a “Koolaid drinker”, a man who believes that his support for disparate and vicious terrorist groups that have decimated Syria, laid its civilian infrastructure to waste, and displaced more than half the population is “God’s work”. Make no mistake, the Turkish government is the modern-day Caliphate. The fact that its government officials dress in nicely-tailored suits rather than black pajamas, is merely a way to divert attention from their extreme fanaticism and their covert support for liver-eating fundamentalist savages.
In the seven weeks since Russia began military operations in Syria, nearly all of the gains of the US-Turkey-Saudi-Qatar jihadi coalition have been wiped out. The decisive battle took place more than a week ago at Kuweris airbase east of Aleppo. This was the tipping point for the war although the imminent fall of Aleppo is bound to attract more notoriety. It’s clear now that the Russian-led coalition is winning the war, has foiled US attempt to remove Assad, and that the bulk of the foreign mercenaries will either be killed or captured. The Obama administration realizes that the current phase of the war is hopeless and has started to implement a fallback plan to control territory in E Syria that is critical for future pipeline corridors. In contrast, the Turkish government is completely unwilling to accept the fact that its plan has failed which is why it has embarked on this risky strategy to draw either NATO or Washington deeper into the fray. Check this out from a Tuesday battlefield report from South Front: “The Syrian forces backed up by the Russian warplanes, pushed back the militant groups from nearly 200 kilometers of land in the coastal province of Lattakia, military sources said Monday. On Sunday, the Syrian army and popular forces purged the terrorists and advanced to areas near the Turkish borders. The ground reports argue that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) took control of Zahia heights, 2km from the joint borders with Turkey.” Can you see what’s going on? The Russian-led coalition is closing in on the Syria-Turkish border which will put an end to Erdogan’s dream of toppling Assad or continuing to fuel the war with terrorists that are provided a safe haven on Syrian soil. This is why the Su-24 fighter was shot down on Tuesday. It is a desperate attempt to salvage the failed strategy of toppling a secular government and replacing it with friendly Islamic extremists who hew to Erdogan’s twisted worldview.
Diz EUA: "o jato já estava sobre a Síria quando foi alvejado".
The United States believes that the Russian jet shot down by Turkey on Tuesday was hit inside Syrian airspace after a brief incursion into Turkish airspace, a U.S. official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official said that assessment was based on detection of the heat signature of the jet.
EUA, general Paul Vallely: "Deveriam chutar Turquia para fora da OTAN".
The downing of a Russian jet in Syria by Turkish fighters has shocked both Russia and NATO. And though the motives for the action are unclear, the incident is bound to have significant geopolitical consequences. What was the reasoning behind the Turkish decision to shoot down the jet, and is it likely to jeopardize the fragile diplomatic effort to reach a peaceful settlement in Syria. Oksana is joined by Paul Vallely, a retired US Army Major General, to sift through these issues.

"Foram míseros 17 segundos, alí Turquia quis arriscar deflagrar um conflito entre OTAN e Rússia".
The highlighted passage reads: “Disregarding these warnings, both planes, at an altitude of 19,000 feet, violated Turkish national airspace to a depth of 1.36 miles and 1.15 miles in length for 17 seconds from 9:24:05 local time." So, as RT notes, even if we buy Turkey's story (i.e. if we accept that Russia actually did violate Turkish airspace), then it would appear that Ankara has something of an itchy trigger finger. That is, Turkey was apparently willing to risk sparking a wider conflict between NATO and Russia over a 17 second incursion. But something doesn't sound right. In other words, as Sputnik put it earlier this evening, "according to those numbers, the Su-24 would have had to be flying at stall speed."

“The Turks are trying to enforce sovereignty over disputed islands and bring Greece to the negotiating table,” Thanos Dokos, the director general of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy, told the Politico news website in July. “What’s worrying are the low-altitude flights, often by helicopters, over these islands.” Turkey fails to respect the 10-mile airspace surrounding the Aegean Islands, which causes numerous dogfights between Greek and Turkish aircraft invading the area. From January to October 2015, the country’s airspace was violated 1,233 times including 31 flights over Greek territory itself, according to the Greek Air Force’s headquarters. Greek media noted the Turks are taking advantage of the country’s economic hardships.
“In the case of air incursions, you have to react,” Thanos Dokos said. “It’s very hard to unilaterally pull back from a situation of military aggression. It’s a tragic situation, because the money we’re spending on dogfights with Turkey is money that we could have spent on other areas of defense.” Media attention has also focused on Turkish naval vessels repeatedly breaching national maritime borders. Over just seven months – from January to July 2015 – the Turkish Navy made 175 incursions into Greek maritime waters. In June, the Turkish Navy ship, the Gelibolu, repeatedly went on “patrol” in Greek territorial waters, a move that angered many in Greece. Earlier on Wednesday, Greek Foreign Minister Nikas Kotzias expressed solidarity with Russia in a phone conversation with Russian FM Sergei Lavrov. The Russian Foreign Ministry said: “Athens agrees with the Russian president’s assessment on Ankara’s hostile actions, which are contrary to the goals of the anti-ISIS coalition,” RIA Novosti reports. Greece, according to its Foreign Ministry, “especially comprehends provocative moves by Turkey given regular multiple violations of Greek air space by Ankara lasting for years.”

Russian military expert and blogger Vladislav Shurygin claims the Turkish air force had been trying to catch and destroy Russian attack aircraft “for several days.” "When our aircraft took off, the Turks immediately scrambled theirs, and at the approach of our fighter bombers to the area of the fighting, between four and six Turkish F-16s were constantly in the air," he wrote in his blog on Livejournal.com. "Several times the Turkish command moved the closest pair to the border into firing position, but recalled them as they approached it, explaining these steps by 'accompanying' foreign aircraft," he wrote, though he gave no explanation of the sources on which he was basing such conclusions. According to him, a day before the incident, Turkish fighters started locking on to Su-24s even before they approached Turkish airspace – though Shurygin did not explain where he got his information. "The missile launch was carried out effectively over the border of Turkey and Syria, after which the Turkish F-16 flew into Syrian airspace for at least four kilometers," Shurygin wrote.
